Public Hearing Scheduled for New Major Street Plan
The Cookeville Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing regarding the adoption of a new Major Street Plan for Cookeville and its Urban Growth Boundary at its August 2010 meeting. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 45 East Broad Street. The public is encouraged to attend this meeting. The proposed Major Street Plan identifies 33 major street improvement or construction projects. The proposed plan may be accessed here. Questions or comments are welcomed and may be submitted here.
Public Meetings Scheduled for Cookeville 2030 PlanThe Planning Commission has completed the preparation the Cookeville 2030 Plan, an updated comprehensive future land use plan for the city and its urban growth boundary. Two special called meetings of the Planning Commission have been scheduled to provide an opportunity for the public to review and discuss the Cookeville 2030 Plan. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Room at City Hall. A second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2010 and will also be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Room. The public is encouraged to attend these meetings. Additionally the Planning Commission will hold a special work session on the Plan on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall. Last month 400 Cookeville households were randomly selected to participate in a citizen survey. The survey was intended to obtain public opinion on numerous planning and development issues.
