Going Out of Business Permit

Pursuant to the City of Cookeville Municipal Code, Title 9, Chapter 1, Section 9-101, any business inside the corproate boundaries of the City of Cookeville is required to apply for a "Close Out" Sales Permit.

This means that any business that is offering to sell to the public goods, wares and merchandise of any kind in the connection with a declared purpose to terminate, close, liquidate, or discontinue the business must purchase this permit.  The permit fee is $25.00 for a period not to exceed 30 days and not more than three (3) renewals shall be granted.  Along with the application, we request that you submit a basic inventory for our review.
