The City of Cookeville Fire Department welcomes you to our website. Working 3 shifts the Cookeville Fire Department provides services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each shift has 16 career fire fighters and up to 4 student fire fighters to respond to the various emergencies that occur. In 2003 Cookeville Fire Department had 1840 responses, in 2004 1792 responses, in 2005 1924 responses, and in 2006 1792 responses. The majority of the runs are classified under the following subject matter: Structure fires, vehicle fires, brush or rubbish fires, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials, personal injury responses, false alarms and odor/nuisance calls.

A team of dedicated professionals achieves our mission. We provide rapid response to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies. Fire prevention education, fire cause investigation, emergency management and other services are performed.
Our highly trained, physically fit, motivated, and caring people are committed to excellence. We achieve a high degree of readiness by maintaining equipment and facilities while constantly seeking state of the art improvements.
