A few facts about us............

The Cookeville Gas Department is a municipal-owned local distribution company that has been serving this community for the past 55 years. It has about 300 miles of gas mains and serves approximately 10,000 customers over the Cookeville and Algood areas and portions of Putnam County.  We install mains in the streets and right-of-ways, service lines from the gas main to the buildings or meter locations, install meters and regulators, light pilots, and investigate odor complaints.  We will locate our underground lines whether they are in the street or in your yard at no charge.

The Cookeville Gas Department is also committed to providing safe and reliable natural gas service to the customers in our  area while minimizing the impact to the environment. We utilize safe operational practices with trained and knowledgeable operating personnel. 

We distribute natural gas through an underground network of pipes in Cookeville, Algood and portions of Putnam County. We provide the final delivery of this vital energy to our customers. In an effort to enhance your awareness of our system, we are suggesting the following:
