

The Cookeville History Museum opened its new location at 40 East Broad Street across from City Hall in the former Respiratory Home Care, Inc. building in April 2007. We are thrilled with our new location and look forward to having you come out and enjoy our community's history exhibited in our new facility. The Friends of the Cookeville History Museum will hold its annual meeting for the membership of the museum at the home of Mrs. Caroline Lowe Brown (former Jere Whitson home) on Dixie Ave. on Monday, February 1, at 6pm. Call 520.5455 for more information. **This meeting has been postponed. Check back for the rescheduled date.
Upcoming Events...
"Antique Victrola Exhibit", which will feature a collection of antique victrolas and will showcase the victrola used at the Princess Theater in Cookeville, will run from March 4-April 10.
Starting April 24-June 5 we will have “The Soldier’s Bible” Exhibit from the Biblical Resource Center and Museum in Collierville, TN. This will include Bibles from the 1860’s designed to give the visitor insight into the spiritual life of the common soldier who served on the field of battle.
We are excited to announce our new Children’s History Hour! Meeting the second Saturday of every month starting February 13, the Cookeville History Museum will host a story and activity time geared towards 1st-4th graders. The story begins at 10:30am and the staff asks that parents remain in attendance with their children.
