The Cookeville History Museum opened its new location at 40 East Broad Street across from City Hall in the former Respiratory Home Care, Inc. building in April 2007. We are thrilled with our new location and look forward to having you come out and enjoy our community's history exhibited in our new facility. Jere Whitson Hardware: Equipping a Generaton

The Cookeville History Museum is very proud to announce an exhibit honoring Jere Whitson hardware.  The exhibit will run from April 17-July 13.  There will be an opening reception April 16th at 6:30pm.


Tennessee Genealogy Month Celebration
Putnam Countys First Families sponsored by the Cookeville History Museum, Putnam County Library, DAR, the Upper Cumberland Genealogy Association and the Putnam County Archives will host an event at Dogwood Park on July 27th from 10am-3pm to celebrate Tennessee Genealogy month.  The organization is looking for direct descendants of the people who settled in this county before 1842 and before 1854.  Applications are available at the museum and at the library. The event will include an exhibit on Putnam County's First Families at the museum.  Demonstrations in the park will include basket making, black smithing, weaving, quilting, music, and many more.  Additional exhibits will also be located at the
Putnam County Library.
