Cookeville History Museum

The mission of the Cookeville History Museum is to provide exhibits, programs and activities that promote the history of Cookeville and Putnam County. The museum houses a self-paced, permanent exhibit on the history of this community, including a timeline around the building that begins with the first people to the area and ends with what is happening today. The front gallery is dedicated to local history exhibits, traveling exhibits and collection displays. Visit the Cookeville History Museum and let us share our story with you. For more information, call 520.5455 or visit CookevilleHistoryMuseum.com

This month's History Hike will take you through the decades of Cookeville! Nine costumed actors will be at both City museums and along Broad Street representing Cookeville in the 1900s, 20s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 80s. Participating families will be able to walk up and hear a short story on what Cookeville was like during these decades and have a few trivia questions to answer. Each person will have the chance to win one of two prizes (one each at the Depot and the History Museum), from Mamma Rosa's and will have the opportunity to earn extra chances by answering the trivia questions posed by our characters.
