Fishing Derby

 

2010 FISHING DERBY

 The Student Fisheries Association (SFA) at Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville Department of Leisure Services and TWRA will host the 22^nd Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby on June 12^th, 2010 at Cane Creek Park (Shelter 2), in Cookeville, TN.  Children, ages 15 and under, are invited to attend this FREE event! Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers for biggest fish and most fish caught in each age group.  Additional activities will include a picnic, a casting contest and educational programs covering topics such as fishing safety, equipment use and fish identification.  Children should bring their own fishing equipment and bait.  A limited amount of equipment will be available for loan to children that do not have their own and this will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Registration will begin at 7:30am and the derby will run from 8:30am until 10:30am.  The picnic and the awarding of prizes will follow the derby.  Additional information can also be obtained from the Cookeville Leisure Services Department at
