The Cookeville Historic Zoning Commission meets monthly, when business dictates, on the 2nd Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Cookeville City Hall.  The agenda deadline is 12 Noon on the 4th Monday of the month prior to the scheduled meeting.  The public is invited to attend all meetings of the Historic Zoning Commission  The Commission is composed of seven members.  The Members are appointed by the Mayor and serve 5 year terms.

The Historic Zoning Commission reviews all requests for the establishment of Historic Districts and reviews and issues Certificates of Appropriateness for all proposals for new construction or rehabilitation in existing Historic Districts.

Board was established by Ordinance #O00-10-35 and was approved by the City Council on 11/16/2000.  Pursuant to TCA sections 13-7-401 through 13-7-409 the commission shall consist of five (5) members, including a representative of a local patriotic organization; a representative from a local preservation organization; an architect (if available); a member of the Cookeville Regional Planning Commission; and a citizen from the community.

Meetings: When necessary; held at City Hall

Terms:  5 years staggered (after their first term served)

Members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council.
