I want to welcome you to the official web site of the Cookeville Police Department. Our site contains valuable information about our Department, our community and our members. I hope you will take the time to explore the different areas and links.

The Cookeville Police Department has an authorized strength of 69 officers to serve a resident population of more than 26,000 citizens, and a daytime population estimated to be in excess of 75,000 persons. Our officers provide police services to a geographical area of over twenty-seven square miles. That service area includes 245 miles of streets and several major highways. In addition to sworn officers, our department employs 21 full-time civilian personnel who perform a variety of important roles.

Our department is divided into four components: the Uniform Services Division, the Administrative Services Division, the Criminal Investigations Division and the General Services Division. A link to information specific to each Division can be found on our home page.

Cookeville is a wonderful community in which to live. Our department, which is nationally accredited, maintains a strong partnership with the community we serve. As described by our Mission Statement, our daily effort is "To provide the citizens and visitors of Cookeville with professional police services at a level of quality that will instill high public confidence and will maintain community trust and support."
