Public Information Officer

As representatives of the citizens we serve, members of the electronic and print media are often one of our best channels to keep all citizens informed. We feel that one of our most important accomplishments is maintaining an open and professional relationship with the media.

Because of staff limitations, the Public Information Officer (PIO) function is not a full-time position in our department. The person assigned to the Public Information Office has other primary full-time responsibilities.

Our current PIO, Captain Nathan Honeycutt, is normally available during regular administrative office hours (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays). You can contact Captain Honeycutt at (931) 520-5265 or by e-mail at nhoneycutt@cookeville-tn.org.

After office hours, and in some cases even during regular business hours, your call may be answered by an automated voice mail system. Captain Honeycutt often has out-of-office duties related to his full-time assignments. If you have an urgent need and your call has not been returned within a reasonable time, you should contact the Communications Center at (931) 526-2125; they will contact him for you.

We realize that timely notification is extremely important to everyone, so the department often uses an automated e-mail and fax notification system. If you are interested in being placed on our automated notification list, please provide us with the following information:

Name of your organization
Mailing Address
One (or more) contact person(s)
Office telephone number
Office fax number (for receiving notifications)
An e-mail address (for receiving notifications)
If your organization maintains a web site, provide that information also

Again, our working relationship with all media officials is very important to us. If you have comments or suggestions as to how we might provide better public information services, please contact Captain Honeycutt.
