The Cookeville Police Department is divided into four divisions: Administrative Services, Uniform Services, Traffic Safety & Enforcement, and Criminal Investigations.
The Administrative Services Division (ASD) manages many different functions within the department designed to support law enforcement officers such as Accrediatation, Training & Professional Standards, Records, Communications, NCIC, Crime Analysis, and Information Systems Management.
The Uniform Service Division (USD) is primarily responsible for crime prevention, responding to and investigating calls for service, and public safety.
The Traffic Safety & Enforcement Division (TSD) responds to traffic crashes, enforces traffic safety, and assists with special events as well as managing the School Patrol Unit.
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating all major crimes and consists of the following specialized sections and units: Personal Crimes, Property Crimes, Financial Crimes, Family Protection, and Drug Enforcement. CID is also responsible for the Drug Education Section.
