Accreditation

The Cookeville Police Department became nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) in 1998. We successfully completed our third re-accreditation in December of 2007.

Communications Section

The Communications Section provides service to police officers and handles all calls for other departments after regular business hours. The dedicated members of this section are the “nerve center” for the operational aspect of the department.

Information Systems Management

Just as technology affects every aspect of our lives, it especially impacts the Cookeville Police Department's ability to gather, manage, and utilize an unbelievable amount of information. This section is responsible for managing all of the department's electronic information. The ability to properly gather and manage all this information has a direct effect on our ability to provide efficient and professional service to our community.
