Programs

Crime Stoppers

The Cookeville Putnam County Crime Stoppers program is a part of the department's Criminal Investigation Division. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000.00 for information that will help solve featured crimes and lead to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

S.A.F.E.T.Y.

Stop Abusers From Educating Their Young (SAFETY) program is a long-term prevention program created to break the cycle of domestic violence. The program, which has been in existence since late 1999, is self-sufficient in that the Cookeville Police Department has committed a full-time Family Protection Unit Coordinator to facilitate the program.

T.N.T.

Teens Need Training (TNT) is a partnership with the Cookeville Police Department and the Cookeville Housing Authority. This program provides activities and community projects for at-risk youth living in and around public housing. TNT helps reduce truancy and improves academics in after-school and summer programs.

P.A.L.

The Police Athletic League (PAL) brings police officers and kids together. The program offers young people meaningful and effective programs designed to harness the positive energy of youth and provide our most valuable resource with the skills to succeed.

DARE

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) is a drug and violence prevention program. Specially trained uniformed officers teach a 17-week, semester-long copyrighted curriculum. Sixth grade students at Prescott Central Middle School are the primary focus of the program.
