Teens Need Training

PAL/TNT is a partnership with the Cookeville Police Department and the Cookeville Housing Authority. The program provides activities, community projects, reduces truancy, and improves academics in after-school and summer programs for at-risk youth living in and around public housing. Community volunteers from Fleetguard, Tennessee Tech University and Cookeville High School tutor and mentor participants. Also two PAL/TNT FleetGuardian Computer Centers were implemented to provide Internet access and computer skills training for students. PAL/TNT performers were created to promote self-esteem for youth. Participants learn skits, music, choreography, and perform for community partners. This program provides positive interaction with law enforcement and helps participants to become productive citizens.
