Brush and Leaf Collection

COLLECTION CENTER OPERATING HOURS

Monday - Saturday
7:00 a.m.   -   3:00 p.m.
The Site is Located on West Jackson Street next door to the Animal Shelter.  Leaf mulch only is available to the public free of charge.  The public may hand load themselves when a city employee is not in attendance.

City and County residents may dump brush and limbs at the site during operating hours.

The City of Cookeville collects brush and bagged yard waste year round.  Loose brush and limbs are collected by a call in list and are collected 1 - 3 weeks after calling in.  Bagged yard waste material will be collected by a special truck 2 - 4 days after calling in to leave an address.
A fee of $60.00 per hour will be charged to all Commercial Businesses for brush and special pick ups.

COLLECTION OF LOOSE LEAVES, BRUSH AND LIMBS

Leaves are collected by vacuum trucks
October through February. 
Leaves will be collected every 4 to 5 weeks.  Residents must rake leaves only (no branches) to curbside or street edge not exceeding six (6) feet in depth from curb or street-edge back (this is the limit the vacuum hose will reach).  No leaves are to be left on the street. After February, all leaves must
be placed in bags for pick up.

Brush, limbs and yard waste are collected with the following regulations:

  • Material must be brought to curbside or street edge.

  • Brush or any other debris is not to be left on the street.

  • Limbs, tree trunks or other debris resulting from tree trimming by a private contractor will not be picked up.

  • Limbs should be cut less than 5 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length.

  • These items are scheduled for pick up by calling our Hot Line at 520-5201.
